Wow! It's been a very long time since I've blogged. Now, I'm going back to last summer (July 2015 to be exact) when Emily Grove and I teamed up on a hot day and created some awesome images together for her European Tour.  It's not all that often that I get to team up with someone like Emily who just naturally HAS it. :) This was my first time exploring Sandy Hook...what a beautiful place!

GRAVEDIGGER

This is the set I've been wanting to do for so long now and finally had the perfect chance with the snow to take these. Photos © 2015 Sarah Smith www.sasphotoimaging.com | Photos of me were captured by Dan Waszay. It's much easier to have someone snap the shots rather than have the camera on the tripod running back and fourth which could be awhile until you get the money shot.

Framing Example for Gas Mask Print

I really wish I could find this exact frame from miniature to really large sizes. I wouldn't be the only happy person to find these frames ready with a black finish. So I wanted to give an example of how the Gas Mask print would look in a frame like this, along with some framing suggestions. It's probably the only image of mine that could get away with this style. I think with a frame like this it really makes the image complete. This photo along with close up detail images are listed on my Etsy print shop here.



This print is also still available through the Help the Gulf Coast shop on Etsy and 100% of the proceeds will go to OxFam America and the National Wildlife Federation. You can check out the listing here.

I went back to it and made a few tweaks only to realize how much I love this. This was probably a subconscious result of all influence I've been having from the black and white films of Jim Jarmusch, Guy Maddin, and Maya Deren as of late.
